It is assumed that the reader is familiar with idea behind Yashid and the principle for the text-entering.
This mock-up is software-only and relies on input using the keyboard. It runs on the Windows Win32 family of operating systems (Win95/98/ME and NT40/Win2K).
The ordering and choise of characters is based on Toke Eskildsen's email outbox (6MB of text). The ordering is not optimal but will do for now.
The program version 0.2.1 can be downloaded as a ZIP-file: Yashid20010424.zip. Version 0.2.1 should be used instead of the initial version, due to richer visual clues and a better character-layout.
Un-ZIP to a directory of choise and run Yashid.exe. The program doesn't tamper with the registry and doesn't save any files anywhere.
The 4 buttons needed for text-entry is represented by any of the following rows of keyboard-buttons: 1234, asdf, jklæ, <zxc, m,.- and F1F2F3F4. It is not possible to erase text.
The following screenshots shows the entering of the text "sample"
using version 0.1 of the Yashod software-mockup.
